    Dreams of Steam
Finally got up after Amanda and myself attended the Dreams of Steam event last night.

In one word, it was amazing. Everyone looked really steamed up and I got lots of comments on my gear. We heard Karmadillo singing about old pornstars, rent and love. Also for Lizardphunk: Thomas Truax was there. Check him out. He makes his own instruments and are very David Lynch inspired.

At the end of the night Amanda Palmer showed up playing those awesome songs of hers. I even got a pat on the shoulder from her when she left the stage.

    Here there be pictures )

    Airsoft
Hallo everyone. I know I`m not the most frequent poster...

I have been looking into joining a airsoft team in Edinburgh. As some of you might halfway remember I put up Modum Airsoft Club (MAC) a few years ago with limited results.
Now I have found a place outside Edinburgh with it`s own store and all. They have just started the actual game days and things, so I`ll join in a start phase.

The rules to own an airsoft weapon is a bit strange: You must have played 3 times in more than 2 months before you can be registered as a player and be allowed to buy. This means that you will have to hire a gun for the first 3 games.

There is only one problem... the games are on Sundays and there are no buses to the playing grounds that arrive before game start.
Also I don`t know anyone I could go with, it makes me a bit nervous. The guys in the store were nice.

    Sunday
Today Amanda and I went in to town. There is a carboot sale there every Sunday. It is like a flee market, only in a garage with lots of cars. People sell stuff from little tables they sett up behind the car. Today I got one of those mini fridges for 2£ and I got the most awesome usb rocket shooter for 7£.
This kind, only no laser on mine.

It shoot quite far aswell, say about 6 meters.
Then we went out for coffee with Amanda`s Dad. After that we went home and had some tasty lunch.

    Drobo
Are you filling, like me, filling up all of your computer with must have things? Does it seem like there is never enough storage?

Well, I tell you... Drobo. I just got mine and god how I love it. You can put in 4 SATA drives. Any size (up to 16T) from any producer and with any size. Drobo uses RAID 5, so it uses one of your drives to backup all the other drives, If you take one out or it crashes, you can put in a new one without loosing data.

Don`t yet believe the magic of Drobo? Please, please see this video. Just take the few minutes of your life for this, it is so worth it.

    Have you seen it now?

It has one downfall and that is price. In Norway you might get it for about 6000 NOK. Shipped from UK, about 4000. And this is without drives.
But really, isn`t the price of a used car worth it for 4 X 16T possiblitiy? It will probably outlive a used car anyway.

I just got mine today and when ever I think "This cost me 5000 NOK" I can help but smile and thing I have gotten a great deal.

    Why I like ASDA
Last night, at 01.05 I went out to get stuff at ASDA. The ASDA near my bit (30min walk) is at the size of Coop Obs! buskerud storesenter +.
They are open all night. When I got there closer to 02.00 I could walk around and look at tv`s, foods, booze and what not.

I can not tell how awesome it is. No time. Must go to ASDA.

Battlecry of the IT admins.. or something
    Hallo Everyone!

I am once again alone. Amanda has gone back home after having been here for an awesome week, including the 17th of May.
We had lots of fun and I can`t wait to move over and start a life with her.

Until then I must revise for my upcoming exam in IT administration. This means setting up a server in the basement and make users and what not. I have not done it for a while so I need the practice. During my first test server now that went a bit further then the install (due to Virtual Box problems) I found that my favorite Ghost solution (Norton ghost 14) is not supported under win 2000 OS...

I could set up 2008 server, but I don`t think that would be as good as the people that will look at it in the end is hardcore 2003 fans..
If anyone out there know of a great backup solution, preferably Ghost, please do say.

Now for a bit of S.T.A.L.E.R. before hardcore server madness of 1337 must commence.

"An' like a fool I mixed them
An' it strangled up my mind,
An' now people just get uglier
An' I have no sense of time.
Oh, Mama, can this really be the end,
To be stuck inside of Mobile
    With the Memphis blues again."

    In Bergen
Found ou on Thursday, after talking with Nadia on MSN, that I needed to come to Bergen.
I came here mostly to see the oracle (read my religion!)

It has been quite fun. Had a vodka in the sun, ran around the city looking at all sort of small and
fantastic things. Tomorrow morning I will be taking the train back home.
Don`t like the train much. Too small seats and it hurts my leg.
So glad I have unlimited supply of batteries and a psp, thank god we live in these times.

Now I must go, would be nice with some sleep before the morning.

    Hallo world
Have been feeling really depressed and anxiety like this week. It sucks so much.
What sucks most is not having any real reason to feel this way, but I still do.

Wish there was some way to have a coma or sleep for a couple of months.

In the morning I feel tired. Tired from a broken-up-in-pieces night of sleep.

One good thing here at the end of all the ranting.
I have been eating quite well for being me. Been eating lunch almost everyday and had noodles for dinner.

Hope everyone else out there is having a better time.

    Facebook Terms of Service

Well, we kinda knew it would come.
One of the biggest problems me and other people have had with Facebook is their Terms of Service that states that the Terms of Service can be changed at any time. This means that you sign something that can become something completely different...

The reason why they had this was confusing. It could be to do a sudden charging of money....

    Now they have changed it.

The following section used to be in the Terms of Service:

"You may remove your User Content from the Site at any time. If you choose to remove your User Content, the license granted above will automatically expire, however you acknowledge that the Company may retain archived copies of your User Content."

This has now been removed. And a new section has been added:

"The following sections will survive any termination of your use of the Facebook Service: Prohibited Conduct, User Content, Your Privacy Practices, Gift Credits, Ownership; Proprietary Rights, Licenses, Submissions, User Disputes; Complaints, Indemnity, General Disclaimers, Limitation on Liability, Termination and Changes to the Facebook Service, Arbitration, Governing Law; Venue and Jurisdiction and Other."

What this all in all boils down to is that before the changes Facebook owned what you put on their page. Now Facebook owns everything you put on their page, even if you end your user account.
